Teaching and ships?

USCCB - (NAB) - February 18, 2006:
"Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters,
for you realize that we will be judged more strictly,
for we all fall short in many respects.

If anyone does not fall short in speech, he is a perfect man,
able to bridle the whole body also.
If we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us,
we also guide their whole bodies.
It is the same with ships:
even though they are so large and driven by fierce winds,
they are steered by a very small rudder
wherever the pilot's inclination wishes.
In the same way the tongue is a small member
and yet has great pretensions.
"

I went to Mass this morning and the first reading REALLY spoke to my homeschooling endeavors...see the highlited parts...isn't that too funny.

I think the Lord is warning me here of things to come...I know that I will be judged more strictly...not only by others but by Him too...I have an incredible responsibility on my hands...what an assignment He has handed to me. I'm humbled...I'm so small and certainly NOT worthy of this honor and I do find it an honor to be able to guide my children through all aspects of their education...to help God in forming them into the people that He wants them to be.

The part about the ship? That was just God giving me His nod to 'Our Little Rocket Ship'...how cool is that? I'm the very small rudder being steered by the Great Pilot Himself.
