I'll have to take a picture...but my little princess is now missing her upper front tooth...lol. It is just the cutest thing that I've seen in a while.
It was very loose and I just gave a quick little tug to it and it came off. We showed it to Christian and now he wants mommy to pull his teeth too. LOL.

New Direction
I think I have a new direction for this blog. Instead of being focused on homeschooling (I now have another blog for that), I'm going to focus more on parenting itself. We'll see how it develops from here.

We just spent a good part of the day with a bunch of other homeschoolers in the area...wow...it was totally awesome. We started the day off with Mass and then off to the beach across the street. The weather was absolutely perfect and we all had a blast.
School starts next week...yipppeeee! We are doing FIAR, Math U See and some phonics...as well as some Bible and saint of the day stuff.

Two very funny books that we've read this week (Sarah just loves them) is 'The Scrambled States of America' and 'Tick-Tock'...I have them on my side bar but just wanted to make a quick comment too.
This week the sound of the week was CK and the theme was clocks.
Oh yes...the video 'Hullaballoo Time' is GREAT also. Who knew that learning about clocks and telling time could be so much fun.

Great Advice...
"-Very balanced meals made with fresh foods. Lessen/eliminate non-natural sugars and packaged. It's amazing how a child can become a demon just from something like red food coloring in a food.
-Plenty of sleep.
-Consistent routine.
-Lots of love and compassion.
-Serene environment, as much as possible (declutter your house).
-No TV.
-Get him outdoors and active every single day, even if it's raining. Being in nature, away from crowded places, is best, and a good way for him to de-stress and release the dissonance he absorbs from other people.
-Get him plenty of sunshine. 10-20 minutes of that daily sunshine should be without sun lotion.
-The outdoors, you will have to force, since he refuses to go anywhere. It is better than being in the home at all times. "
I did a search on tantrums and found this little gem. I think there is really great stuff here. Getting Sarah outside is going to be a problem like this person suggests...so she WILL have to be forced.
It might just be a phase...but it doesn't mean that it's all beyond my control...I can try to lessen it a little bit.

Ok...here's my reality...I struggle by. I so wish that I could have one of those 'loveliness' blogs...where everything is just perfect all around. But I'm figuring...since I enjoy blogging...and if I wait for 'perfection' to happen around here, there will NEVER be anything to write about...I might as well write about the 'strugles'. I guess that's MY niche in life...I'm a whiner...and I need an outlet...lol.
So as to the quote above...that just spoke to my most recent 'struggle'. Christian is not quite four yet, but what can I say...he's an advanced child...lol. I just need to change the 'kicking and spitting' for 'hitting, scratching and pulling sister's hair'. Yikes! Time outs don't seem to be helping at all here...arghhh.
Sarah on the other hand seems to have reverted back to her daily tantrums. We went for about a year free of tantrums and thought that they were done with...I NEVER expected for them to re-appear at FIVE! I've thinking that she may be overly tired and may actually be needing to have a nap in the afternoon again...maybe she's going through some growth spurt or something. I don't know...I'm at a loss here.`

Salvation History Continues
The Christmas Story
So we've covered Creation and the Adam and Eve story...my kids are loving these by the way. Today's being the Feast Day of St. Joseph I thouht it would be the perfect kick off to Jesus's story.
So last we left our Bible time, Adam and Even had gotten kicked out of Garden of Eden...sad yes...but there is HOPE...and now we introduce Him! The source of all our hope.

Are you smarter then a fifth Grader?
Christian was watching this with daddy last night (I was upstairs putting Sarah to sleep) and when the question was 'how many sides does a decagon have'...Christian goes...1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10...ten sides! LOL. Hmmm...maybe he can be one of those kids on the show soon...hmmm...they probably have to be at least in pre-school to be on it...so we might have to wait on this one since we aren't officially starting preschool with him until this coming Fall...lol.

We are reading 'The Snowy Day' this week and we woke up this morning to snow falling outside...what could be more perfect? So after breakfast...and after reading our book...we put on our snow suits and headed outside. We walked with our toes pointed out and with our toes pointed in, we even found a stick to drag in the snow, we made snow angels, we climbed 'mountains' and slid down. PERFECT!
So now I need a few minutes to gather some energy to make lunch and so forth...so they are watching oobie's Valentine special. Works for me.

I started doing Before FIAR with the kids a couple of weeks ago...we've already rowed 'Jesse Bear' and 'Corduroy' and we are doing 'Angus Lost' this week. I'm so excited to see that today they have come out with a brand new board...yippee.
