Nature Walk

I'm being blessed by the Charlotte Mason method already. This morning instead of taking the kids to the playground we took them to the Breakheart Reservation instead and went on a nice little nature walk. This is all so alien to me...I'm not really the 'out doors-ie type'(LOL...especially as the weather cools)...but I'm trying.

We all had a blast by the way.

Book on Mary

I had ordered this book from the Library and it came in today...just in time for the feast of the presentation. I was so happy to see that it actually begins with a beautiful story on the presentation. This one is a keeper...I'm buying it.

Real Learning

I just received my book today. I'm so excited...I can't wait to get started on it.

"More than a dozen high school students from Solebury School, near Philadelphia, were taken by bus to the Planned Parenthood location in Warminster, Catholic News Service reported, where they spent several hours touring the clinic. According to CNS the students wore vests used by abortion staff when escorting women into the building."

update

Well...we are sill waiting for Roy to finish with our class room, so we've been sort of winging it around here lately. It's a bit more frustrating, to not have things in their places and so forth...but we are reading our books and just having fun playing.

The kids started at Litle Gym last week and had their second class this week already and are loving it. It is such a great program. They work on different age appropriate tasks, like taking turns, sharing, following directions and so forth as they learn their cartwheels and handstands. If you want to check them out, don't forget to tell them that I sent you...lol.

food for the journey

"Send forth your light and your truth, let them guide me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell. Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my joy and my delight."
--Psalms 43: 3-4

Everywhere I turn I hear kids grumbling about going back to school and parents excited about getting them out of the house.

Lord, may we all embrace our calling today and delight fully in the joy of God.

Little Gym in Woburn

We started dance class on Saturday and will be starting gymnastics tomorrow...ok...is this 'overkill'? I guess we'll wait and see...if anything, we might end up dropping the Saturday morning dance class since that takes quite a chunk of time from the family (they are each in seperate classes).

Happy Birthday Mary!

"Mary's Birthday Cake

All children love birthday cakes -- so today, let's make a birthday cake for the Blessed Virgin Mary. A white layer cake or angel food cake would be appropriate, with white icing and blue icing for trim (white is a symbol of purity; blue symbolizes fidelity, and is a color especially used for Mary). We suggest letting the children help with the decorations, if possible. If you have a small statue of Mary, it could be placed in the center of the cake, which can be surrounded by 10 candles -- one for each "Hail Mary" prayer in a decade of the Rosary. (If you don't have a little statue, you can write Mary's name on the cake in blue icing.)

At the end of the evening meal, each child could take turns lighting the 10 candles as the whole family prays together a "Hail Mary" for each candle, ending with the Lord's Prayer.

If the children are too young to light candles, mother could light the candles, then the adults could pray one Hail Mary at the end, just before the cake is cut. After eating the birthday cake, the prayer below could be said (this prayer, the concluding prayer from "Matins" of the Divine Office, could also be said with the children at bedtime).

Lord God,
the day of our salvation dawned
when the Blessed Virgin gave birth to your Son.
As we celebrate her nativity
grant us your grace and your peace.
Through Christ our Lord, Amen."

A Prayer for a New School Year

"Spirit of God, fill our hearts with a desire to seek truth and rejoice in beauty. Help us to know what is pleasing to you and to understand what is right and good in your sight. Give us the spirit of learning that we may please you by our thoughts and love you in your creation. Give all teachers your constant encouragement and guide them in their good work. Spirit of God, make us effective witnesses of your truth to all whose lives we touch. We ask this in the name of Jesus the Lord. Amen."

Legacy of an Adopted Child

Once there were two women who never knew each other. One you do not remember, the other you call Mother.

Two different lives shaped to make you one. One became your guiding star, the other became your sun.

The first one gave you life, and the second taught you to live it. The first gave you a need for love. The second was there to give it.

One gave you a nationality. The other gave you a name. One gave you a talent. The other gave you aim.

One gave you emotions. The other calmed your fears. One saw your first sweet smile. The other dried your tears.

One sought for you a home that she could not provide. The other prayed for a child and her hope was not denied.

And now you ask me, through your tears, the age-old question unanswered through the years. Heredity or environment, which are you a product of? Neither, my darling. Neither. Just two different kinds of Love.

God's co workers

Therefore, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who causes the growth. He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive wages in proportion to his labor. For we are God’s co-workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

As an adoptive mother I often wonder...which matters most...nature or nurture. We are put straight in the above passage...neither and both. As birth parents and adoptive parents, one merely did the planting and the other the watering...it is God however that causes the growth.

This week's theme deals with farm animals...so we took a fieldtrip to 'Davis Farmland' in Sterling to kick it off.

The favorite spots were the water park, the sand play area and for Christian the reptile section...I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised that he likes snakes...he's such a boy afterall...lol. But his reaction was hillarious...'a snake...wow...I can't believe it'.

Ok...how does this computer stuff work anyway? LOL. Sarah is into typing (anyone know a good program for kids?)and wanted to send daddy an E-Mail. So I showed her what to do and after typing her name, she sent it off. Then the questions started coming...how will he get it? and on and on. I said that it got sent out through the cables and went all the way to daddy's job and he'll pick it up there...yikes...thank goodness my lap top was plugged in at the moment, didn't have to get into 'cordless'. I'm going to have to read up on this stuff a bit more pretty soon, don't you think? LOL.

babies in tummies

Ok...I'm really in for it now...lol. I've been talking to Sarah about her adoption since the very beginning and part of the story goes something like this...'mommy's tummy is broken so you grew inside 'V's tummy until you were ready to come home'...she's been obsessed with this lately and talks about it all the time and you can just see the wheels turning. Until today she finally asked me 'mommy, your tummy was not working so I grew inside of V's tummy right?' right...'but...how did I get in there?' YIKES...I wasn't ready for that one...she's only four! So...'Jesus put you in there' came out. She seemed satisfied with that...I guess later on (hopefully, much, much later) we'll have to have a longer and much more difficult discussion in light of her own conception story. Prayers please.

I'm sure glad that we are homeschooling though and that these things are being left to me and not some teacher who doesn't have a clue of our situation.

Wiggles update

The Wiggles Home Page

Been pretty busy around here, but wanted to give a quick update on the concert Friday. Roy took the day off and had been telling the kids all day that we had a surprise for them. Sarah was really into wanting to know what it was...Christian...not so much...lol. She held off pretty good though the entire ride there until we got into Worcester and then she finally asked 'now, can you tell us what it is'...lol...so I gave in. She was so excited! Christian was napping at this time and didn't wake up until we got into the parking lot. So, he really had no idea what was going on. We had floor seats and they were on the last row of our section, so during the show at various times they would come down and mingel with the people and walk through the aisle right behind us. It was very cool...probably even more so for mommy then the kids...lol. Roy held Christian on his lap the entire time and he was just transfixed...he just couldn't believe what he was seeing right before his very eyes...lol.

Monday

The Handwriting on the Wall

A weary mother returned from the store,
Lugging groceries through the kitchen door.
Awaiting her arrival was her 8-year-old son,
Anxious to relate what his younger brother had done.

"While I was out playing and Dad was on a call,
T.J. took his crayons and wrote on the wall!
It's on the new paper you just hung in the den.
I told him you'd be mad at having to do it again."

She let out a moan and furrowed her brow,
"Where is your little brother right now?"
She emptied her arms and with a purposeful stride,
She marched to his closet where he had gone to hide.

She called his full name as she entered his room.
He trembled with fear--he knew that meant doom!
For the next ten minutes, she ranted and raved
About the expensive wallpaper and how she had saved.

Lamenting all the work it would take to repair,
She condemned his actions and total lack of care.
The more she scolded, the madder she got,
Then stomped from his room, totally distraught!

She headed for the den to confirm her fears.
When she saw the wall, her eyes flooded with tears.
The message she read pierced her soul with a dart.
It said, "I love Mommy," surrounded by a heart.

Well, the wallpaper remained, just as she found it,
With an empty picture frame hung to surround it.
A reminder to her, and indeed to all,
Take time to read the handwriting on the wall.

Sarah was only one then and was totally amazed...this will be Christian's first time...I can't wait to see his expression.

A Heavenly Day

Catholic News Agency: "'Instead, heaven is the real goal of our earthly pilgrimage,' he stated. 'How different our days would be if they were guided by this perspective! This is what it was for the saints. Their lives witnessed that when one lives with one's heart constantly turned to heaven, earthly realities are lived in the proper proportion.'"

Week 1 Day 3 of Little Saints: today we focused on heaven and its beauty. "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, what God has prepared for those who love Him." 1 Cor 2:9
Part of today's assignments was to decorate a picture of 'The Heavenly Jerusalem' with sparkly paints and beads...the kids did a great job and had a wonderful time. Then I explained to them that on this day we are celebrating the day that Mary went to heaven...what a wonderful day of rejoicing it must have been for her...to finally see her Son again.

Oh when the Saints go marching in...

God Loves Me

myCatholic.com Customizable Catholic Homepage: "Blessed be you, my God, for having created me!
 St. Clare"

Today was day 1 of pre-school. We are using Little Saints curriculum and the theme is 'God Loves Me'. What a beautiful reminder for mommy too.

We went through our assignments pretty quickly...we had it all done...story time, music time, art time (hand prints) within one hour. I guess I have to learn to set the pace myself instead of following their lead which is what I would normally do. Sarah had a blast and did incredibly well, including the interview questions at the end. Christian on the other hand probably wouldn't be ready for pre-school under 'normal' conditions...but I figure it will be good for him to take part in it now...I just have to remember to keep my expectations realistic.

After 'school' we went outside to blow bubbles and run around in the yard. It is a beautiful day here, and I could really sense the theme of day...God does indeed love me and has blessed me tremendously.

disciplining the will

Archbishop Fulton Sheen -
"Knowledge is in the mind, character is in the will. To pour knowledge into the mind of a child, without disciplining his will to goodness, is like putting a rifle into the hands of a child. Without education of the mind a child could be a stupid devil. With education of the mind, but without love of goodness, a child could grow up to be a clever devil."

Shown as an index of their thoughts and ideals? What caution they would exercise in their selection! And yet the example parents give their children will be that by which they will be judged on the Last Day."

Nurturing with encouragement, not discouragement!

Jesus Does!

SpunkyHomeSchool: Successful Bloggers and Homeschoolers: "Just in the past few months adultery, divorce, and suicide have all touched our local homeschool community. Homeschooling is not the salvation of our culture. Jesus is. Homeschooling will not make a family successful. Jesus does. Homeschooling will not keep a child from rebellion. Jesus does. Homeschooling will not keep a marriage strong. Jesus does. And the minute, I think that homeschooling will do any of these things, is the day I begin the slide toward defeat. Homeschooling will not build a successful family any more than a hammer will build a successful house.

Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: Psalm 127:1"

Homeschooling all along...

News from Agape Press: "When people ask me, 'How long have you been home schooling?' my usual reply is, '13 years.' If I were to be completely accurate, I would probably answer, 'Since the birth of my first child.' After all, home schooling is more than one on a list of educational options; it's a lifestyle that goes far beyond teaching the three R's -- Reading, wRiting and aRithmetic. It is a way of life that is invigorating and rewarding, yet draining and frustrating."

Catholic Heritage Curricula

Catholic Heritage Curricula

Just ordered some stuff to go along with the Little Saints curriculum...we are well on our way now...school begins the second week of August! Both kids will be starting Pre-K even though they both know their letters and their sounds, numbers to 20, shapes, colors and so on. I figure that it's better to start at a level that they can do well at and gain some confidence and then we can just fast forward a bit if we need to.

Spelling 'Ursprache'

FOXNews.com - Spelling 'Ursprache' Wins National Spelling Bee - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment: "Katharine Close, an eighth-grader at the H.W. Mountz School in Spring Lake, N.J., is the first girl since 1999 to win the national spelling title."

I enjoyed watching this, I especially got a kick out of watching the different interviews. One of the parents was saying how they knew they had something special on their hands when their young child started spelling words like EXIT and STOP! LOL...ok...are these always kids first spelling words? Maybe it's because they see them the most...on signs everywhere? It's just kind of funny because those were Sarah's first spelling words too...along with her name ofcourse.

TV

News from Agape Press: "'Here we have the nation's largest child health organization telling us two years ago that kids under two shouldn't be watching television at all,' Maier laments, 'and yet this huge number of children are doing just that.' But although he thinks allowing the TV to 'baby-sit' while adults do other things is an immature and selfish trend, he emphasizes that he does not believe most parents are uncaring, only uninformed."

Or maybe just trying to survive and doing the best they can. Although I definitely wouldn't allow my child to sit there and watch adult tv (ok...I watched American Idol with Sarah all season and last night we watched the Spelling Bee...but in those cases it is the commercials we need to watch out for). But there are some really good tv shows and videos for youngesters out there...no, it shouldn't take away from parenting time...but it can certainly supplement it without harm. I'm sick of everyone else thinking that they know what is best for our kids. If your child is very sensitive and would do best without any tv...then by all means shut it off.

homeschooling illegal?

WorldNetDaily: U.N. making homeschooling illegal?

Let's just pray, folks.

Happy Mother's Day...

Rediscovering everyday mothering More mothers are staying at home - Catholic Online:

"In a new twist, women today are choosing raising children over building careers, and the idea that homemaking has a special dignity all its own is catching on once again.

Many media reports claim that Ivy League college graduates in comfortable careers are just as likely to leave the job as less career-oriented women. Recent studies, widely publicized, have shown that at-home mothers are also happier in their marriages.

The trend is also gaining a foothold in Great Britain, where the Sunday Times reported April 16 that the new educated woman 'is a housewife,' who regards her prime responsibility as bringing up the children.

For many Catholic moms, staying home with children is neither a new trend nor a revelation for its marriage-strengthening properties. Embracing the vocation of motherhood is about embracing God's will, many say, and making the sacrifice for the greater good. "

The Little Shepherds

Mother Of All Peoples:
"My last words are for the children: dear boys and girls, I see so many of you dressed like Francisco and Jacinta. You look very nice! But in a little while or tomorrow you will take these clothes off and... the little shepherds will disappear. They should not disappear, should they?! Our Lady needs you all to console Jesus, who is sad because of the bad things done to him; he needs your prayers and your sacrifices for sinners.
Ask your parents and teachers to enroll you in the 'school' of Our Lady, so that she can teach you to be like the little shepherds, who tried to do whatever she asked them. I tell you that 'one makes more progress in a short time of submission and dependence on Mary than during entire years of personal initiatives, relying on oneself alone.' (1) This was how the little shepherds became saints so quickly. A woman who gave hospitality to Jacinta in Lisbon, on hearing the very beautiful and wise advice that the little girl gave, asked who taught it to her. 'It was Our Lady,' she replied. Devoting themselves with total generosity to the direction of such a good Teacher, Jacinta and Francisco soon reached the heights of perfection.
'Father, to you I offer praise, for what you have hidden from the learned and the clever you have revealed to the merest children.'
Father, to you I offer praise for all your children, from the Virgin Mary, your humble Servant, to the little shepherds, Francisco and Jacinta.
May the message of their lives live on forever to light humanity's way!

Answering the call...

Homeschooling Isn't About Education by Chris Davis:
"I would like to offer my opinion as to why we have become 'homeschoolers' and so many others have not: I have a conviction that a historical time is approaching for which a certain 'kind' of person will be needed in this nation; indeed, in the world. When this time will come, I don't know, but my sense is that it will come soon. What I do believe is that God has needed a very specific context within which He can grow up this particular kind of person. And, since a lot of these 'persons' are needed, God has asked a lot of us to become homeschoolers. What is this context? It is simply a place where the hearts of the fathers have been turned toward their children and the hearts of the children have been turned toward their fathers. It is a place where children are raised to become proficient at the specific giftings, talents, and callings God has placed within them since their creation."

Thursday

Unreal...

News from Agape Press: "The United States Supreme Court may hear a case involving a school district's censorship of an art poster that a kindergartener drew for a school assignment -- a drawing that was partly suppressed by school officials because it contained the child's depiction of Jesus."

As if I needed any more incentive to homeschool my kids.

Socialization?

New Oxford Review:
"When my wife and I mention we are strongly considering homeschooling our children, we are without fail asked, 'But what about socialization?' Fortunately, we found a way our kids can receive the same socialization that government schools provide."

interesting...

Diablo Valley School:
"It's important to underline that Bonhoeffer meant that literally, not metaphorically--schooling after the Prussian fashion removes the ability of the mind to think for itself. It teaches people to wait for a teacher to tell them what to do and if what they have done is good or bad. Prussian teaching paralyses the moral will as well as the intellect. It's true that sometimes well-schooled students sound smart, because they memorize many opinions of great thinkers, but they actually are badly damaged because their own ability to think is left rudimentary and undeveloped."

Sunday

Teacher's Prayer

Teacher's Prayer:
"Teacher's Prayer
I want to teach my students how to live this life
on earth, to face its struggles and its strife
and improve their worth.
Not just the lesson in a book or how the rivers
flow, but how to choose the proper path
wherever they may go.
To understand eternal truth and know the right
from wrong and gather all the beauty of a
flower and a song.
For if I help the world to grow in wisdom and grace
then I shall feel that I have won and I have filled
my place.
And so I ask your guidance, God
that I may do my part for character and confidence
and happiness of heart.
Amen. "

Principal Educators

Catechism of the Catholic Church - PART 2 SECTION 2 CHAPTER 3 ARTICLE 7: "1653 The fruitfulness of conjugal love extends to the fruits of the moral, spiritual, and supernatural life that parents hand on to their children by education. Parents are the principal and first educators of their children.164 In this sense the fundamental task of marriage and family is to be at the service of life.165 "

Obviously as adoptive parents, our fruitfulness as a couple was not in bringing these precious children into the world...but I love the above passage of the Catechism...it explains what our fuitfulness IS. This is a role that we take seriously!

Time for a Bus Ride...

Grace For Gayle - Our very own "School" bus! - Homeschoolblogger.com:
"I remember at first that they felt like they were missing out on something. They would see the neighborhood kids walking every morning to the corner in front of our house and wait for the big yellow bus to come pick them up. It looked like a party, I'm sure; everyone playing on the way, large groups of kids standing around 10 feet from our front door. They wanted to join in. Plus, their grandma was a public school teacher and she would conveniently tell them all they were missing by staying at home. They knew ALL about recess!! So, after being worn down by all the whining and big puppy dog eyes of disapointment, I got the great idea to ride the 'school' bus. "

Sarah has started with the 'riding the school bus' schpeel...arghhh...I really wasn't expecting this...she's such a homebody and we don't really have alot of school age friends...I'm thinking she's getting it from the television...double arghhh. It kind of threw me for a loop a little bit but then read the above blog...ingenius...we'll have to try it.

I decided last night to just get the books we need to complete the Angelicum Academy Curriculum from the library, instead of spending more money at this time. I went online and was so thrilled to see they had all the books I needed...yippeee...I have ordered them and can't wait to go pick them up. Is anyone else having as much fun as I am? I'm hoping that my enthusiasm is contagious and the kids will pick it up...LOL.

On a side note, I think Sarah is getting ready to read here. Both of the kids know all their letters and their sounds...but Sarah is actually starting to put them together in small words. I've read that some people have qualms about kids learning too early...my method is just to expose them to things and allow them to go at their own pace...I have no intention of pushing them OR HOLDING THEM BACK! I figure that's what homeschooling is all about...kids discovering life at their own pace!

Now...I think I need to find a hospital theme to teach since we've been spening so much time there due to my dad. Sarah already loves everything medical and tells 'vovo' that she's his doctor.

I had set this up a while ago, and we have gotten away from it recently but I think it is time to get back to it...making a special effort during Lent which begins next week. I think this will help in curbing their tv habit. It's been pretty bad since they were sick a couple of weeks ago...minha culpa...but so be it...observe and correct.

Our Favorite Rocket Ship(lyrics)

"We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship, Zooming through the sky... Little Einsteins
Climb aboard, get ready to explore There's so much to find, Little Einsteins.
We're going on a mission, start the countdown 5, 4, 3,2,1
Everyone to rocket, rev it up now RRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
We're going on a trip in our favorite rocket ship Zooming through the sky, Little Einsteins
climb aboard, get ready to explore There's so much to find, Little Einsteins
come On - Let's Go - Little Einsteins We need you, Little Einsteins"

The Heart of the Matter

...In the Presence of God: "Any ideas on how to encourage ministries? I'm thinking that it probably starts with helping others discover their gifts and encourage them to put them to use. "

So now I've started quoting myself...LOL. Anyway...as I was writing this for my other blog, I realized how important it is to do this for our own children...this actually goes right to the heart of what parenting and homeschooling is about...helping our children find their 'gifts' and encouraging them to put it to use.

keeping them safe...

USCCB - (NAB) - February 23, 2006:
"Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,
it would be better for him if a great millstone
were put around his neck
and he were thrown into the sea."

I think one of my greatest responsiblities in my calling to homeschool is to keep my children away from sin. I know that I can't protect them in bubble wrap and have them be safe for ever...it's not about that. It's about educating their consciences and allowing their own love for God grow. For me that precedes anything I can teach them about Language Arts or Math.

Last night before bedtime, Sarah said a Hail Mary...she did a mama's heart proud!

Now about sin...hmmm...how to help them curb some of their ocasional bad behavior? I suppose love, patience and good example go a long way...

Wednesday

We received our books

The stuff I ordered from Angellicum Academy arrived today...most of it anyway...some of it is still on back order. I'm really pleased with books I've received though, I just need to figure out what I'm going to do about the lesson plan. We are doing the 'Nursery' program since it was recommended for age 3, but I skipped some of the items they offered since the kids already know their alphabet, numbers up to 10, colors and shapes really well. Now when I looked at the lesson plan that they have set up, it seems that this is mostly what it is about. They still need practice with writing their letters, so maybe we'll do a review with a focus on writing. They also didn't include religion as part of the lesson plan and yet that is the majority of the books that I bought. So...I'm not quite sure yet how I'm going to put this all together...but we're getting excited.

Three Forms of Water

Three Forms of Water

My Assistant...

The kids are in the living room at the moment while I get some chores done around the house. I just checked in on them and they are sitting on the couch...Sarah is 'reading' to Christian...LOL.

She also helped me with breakfast this morning...we made Macaroni and Cheese...what...that's not breakfast food? It is at my house...LOL. We had a good lesson about the different forms of water as she saw it boiling and the steam coming out of the pot. I love 'homeschooling'.

Saturday

Teacher's Aid

Reflections on the Daily Mass Readings:
"We are not so much a teacher as we are a 'Teacher's aid.' Only the Lord is the Teacher (Mt 23:10). We are His mouthpieces. The Holy Spirit will teach us 'what to say and how to speak' (Jn 12:49). We will be called to the stricter account (Jas 3:1). Since we have been given much, that is, the incomparable privilege of teaching people about almighty God, much will be required of us (Lk 12:48). We must not grow lazy (Heb 6:12), for He Whom we serve is the eternal God (Rm 12:11)."

Teaching and ships?

USCCB - (NAB) - February 18, 2006:
"Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers and sisters,
for you realize that we will be judged more strictly,
for we all fall short in many respects.

If anyone does not fall short in speech, he is a perfect man,
able to bridle the whole body also.
If we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us,
we also guide their whole bodies.
It is the same with ships:
even though they are so large and driven by fierce winds,
they are steered by a very small rudder
wherever the pilot's inclination wishes.
In the same way the tongue is a small member
and yet has great pretensions.
"

I went to Mass this morning and the first reading REALLY spoke to my homeschooling endeavors...see the highlited parts...isn't that too funny.

I think the Lord is warning me here of things to come...I know that I will be judged more strictly...not only by others but by Him too...I have an incredible responsibility on my hands...what an assignment He has handed to me. I'm humbled...I'm so small and certainly NOT worthy of this honor and I do find it an honor to be able to guide my children through all aspects of their education...to help God in forming them into the people that He wants them to be.

The part about the ship? That was just God giving me His nod to 'Our Little Rocket Ship'...how cool is that? I'm the very small rudder being steered by the Great Pilot Himself.

Ages to Report

Ages to Report: "Ages to Begin and Stop Reporting to the Local School District
In Massachusetts, the Board of Education is delegated by the legislature to set the minimum and maximum ages of school attendance. The Board of Education, through the Department of Education Regulations, has set ages 6-16 as those required for attendance. "

Ok...so we've got some time...LOL. Sarah is going to be 4 in mid May and Christian 3 at the end of August. Never too early to get prepared though. Anyway...that's just the ages that we need to report to the school system...we will be starting with Pre-K...so we'll be well in our way by then.

Come join us on our journey...

Figure I'd start a 'homeschooling blog', since we are getting ready for take off...it'll be fun to document the journey.
